Fractional CO2 laser
Laser sessions used to improve skin texture and the look of scars as the doctor plans, sometimes combined with other procedures such as scar subcision.
Who it's for
Suitability is confirmed after a consultation and assessment by the treating clinician; results vary from person to person. Response can vary with skin type and colour.
What to expect
- Consultation and assessment of skin and scars
- Skin preparation, with numbing cream if needed
- The laser session
- Aftercare guidance and next sessions agreed
Sessions and aftercare
Redness and peeling for several days are usual. Use the moisturiser and sunscreen the doctor recommends, and avoid direct sun.
Possible risks and side effects
Common: redness, swelling and peeling or light crusting for a few days. Less common: skin-colour change (especially in darker skin), infection, and rarely scarring. The doctor explains the risks before starting.
Why follow-up matters
Keeping follow-up appointments and aftercare instructions matters; missing them can delay noticing a side effect or affect the result. Contact the clinic if pain increases or there is any discharge.
